There's More Value In Asking Someone 'WHY' They Did It Than 'HOW' They Did It.

When looking at other people who have successfully accomplished what you wish to accomplish, the obvious question to ask would be 'how did you do that?'

How did you lose weight / gain muscle?

How did you pay off your debts?

How did you become a millionaire?

How did you quit alcohol / drugs / sugar etc?

We are looking for the plan to follow, the structure, the advice, the tips, the route, the map.

However even when you get the answer, you won't successfully achieve the same thing if you are missing an intrinsic motivation - the 'pivotal thought.'

For example, I can tell you I lost 1 stone by cutting out sugar. The way that I was able to cut out sugar was have a pivotal thought that I kept coming back to when I was tempted to eat sugar. Maybe it wasn't even about losing weight or following a food plan - maybe it was that I noticed that my skin was clearer & brighter when I didn't eat sugar. That is the WHY I was able to stick to cutting sugar. It meant a lot to me.

When I am tempted to eat sugar, its not the thought of the calories or the weight loss that deters me, it's my skin!!

Or I may tell you I made lots of money & paid for the holiday of my dreams by taking an extra job doing telesales. You may HATE doing sales and even more so telesales, but if you find the thought that keeps you motivated and able to overcome that, you will smash the calls and make the sales and the money.

You can overcome any mental block or barrier by working out the pivotal thought on that specific subject.

If you figure out your WHY you will be more able to stick to the plan aswell.

Without the WHY & subsequent 'pivotal thought' you will only be able to stick to a plan for the short term.
